Lavender & Black is a family run farm, distillery and studio located on beautiful Salt Spring Island.  Here we grow a wide range of flowers and aromatic herbs, including helichrysum, lavender, rosemary, sage, and many others. Together with sustainably gathered plants from the surrounding forest and sea, we have a rich palette of unique botanicals as the foundation of our product line.

 

 

We practice natural farming—which focuses on soil health, plantings integrated into the treed native landscape, pollinator habitat, water conservation, and organic growing practices.  Harvested by hand and processed in small batches—including artisanal distilling of essential oil and hydrosol—our ingredients have exceptional fragrance, taste, and therapeutic benefits for body and mind.

Our philosophy extends to the sourcing of ingredients we don’t grow or harvest ourselves—choosing organic, natural, and local - including wild harvesting.   

We intentionally formulate our products for high potency by selecting the very best ingredients for purpose and then keeping them concentrated.  This allows for the use of smaller product containers, and enables you to use less product with each application. We believe that the best products for your body and home are derived from nature—and as such are pure and simple.

Our intention is to create natural products that are healthy & healing - with care for the environment.
